The Singapore LSE Trust Scholarship

The LSE Trust Undergraduate Scholarship Award

The Trust funds Undergraduate Scholarship Awards for Singaporean students, covering their tuition fees.

Applicants for the Trust’s Undergraduate Scholarship Award must be Singapore citizens who have already gained admission to the LSE and are thereafter financially assessed:

1. By the LSE’s Financial Support Office (FSO) to ensure that the applicant has a genuine financial need, and yet a realistic ability to raise sufficient other sources of funds for their living expenses (e.g. family savings, borrowing or part-time work) and

2. By the Trustees of The Singapore LSE Trust who look for a track record of doing good, contributing to others despite their challenges, desire for the betterment of society and those who will “pay it forward” if given the opportunity.

Successful applicants can expect to receive a undergraduate scholarship award covering their tuition fees over the course of their undergraduate degree.

Applications for the award are administered by the school’s Financial Support Office (FSO) and prospective students should apply directly through the FSO’s website.

Trust Scholars

It was only with the help of the LSE Singapore Trust Scholarship that I was able to achieve my dream of studying at the prestigious LSE.

The curriculum at LSE has been intellectually stimulating, and they have been able to trigger my thought processes on some pertinent economic conundrums. Moreover, I have been able to travel around Europe for the first time in my life, exploring countries like the Czech Republic and Greece. Such experiences gave me a more diverse and global perspective, allowing for tremendous personal growth.

I am grateful for this opportunity to study abroad and look forward to developing myself to the fullest with my remaining time at the LSE.

The privilege of being part of the Singapore LSE Trust Scholarship community has lit up my journey across the last decade or so, from the Trustees initially extending their trust and support towards my development, to each and every instance of mentorship, inspiration and friendship from members of the wider LSE community.

All of these benefits have allowed me to work with purpose towards ameliorating the infrastructure development and financing gap, transitioning to clean energy, and assisting sustainable investments particularly in developing countries.

Bachelor of Laws (2013)

My time at the LSE has allowed me to transition my career from non-profit arts management and I have since gained over ten years of experience in management consulting in the media, communications and technology sector in London, Prague, New York and San Francisco.

During the height of the pandemic, I used my experience to set up a virtual volunteer-based arts consulting project to help a fledgling chamber music group with their organizational governance. Since being awarded with the Scholarship, I've been able to jump from peak to peak in my professional and personal journey.
