The LSEAAS Committee

A volunteer of the Alumni Association since 2007, Edwin has served as President since 2022 where he enjoys fostering meaningful connections and building a vibrant community for the 3,000+ strong LSE alumni in Singapore. 

A Government & History 2006 graduate, Edwin currently works at StarHub where he leads Culture, Employee Engagement & Organization Learning.   

Edwin is married with two teenage children and embraces each day with curiosity and appreciation for the experiences it brings.

Stefan has been an Executive Committee member of the LSEAAS since 2013 and a Trustee of the Singapore LSE Trust since 2019, currently acting as the Trust’s Honorary Treasurer.

He works as the regional Operating Head (COO) for the UBS Global Wealth Management Chief Investment Office (CIO). Stefan joined UBS in Zurich after completing his PhD at LSE and has been based in Singapore since 2010. As a PhD candidate at LSE, Stefan also taught undergraduates in Economic History and published on financial history, business history and advertising history.

Stefan is married to an LSE alumna from Singapore, Alicia, and they have two lovely children. He enjoys reading, cooking and occasionally putting pen to paper. Stefan has published several books on graphic design and still dreams of publishing a children’s book one day.

Since graduating from the LSE in 2011, Ann Marie has worked in communications, stakeholder engagement, content development, and events. She currently works at the Milken Institute leading business and program development for the region. She was born in Singapore and grew up in Malaysia and Australia, before moving to London to pursue a Bachelor’s in Economics at the LSE.

Rehan graduated from the LSE in 2005 and has since then worked in finance and capital markets in the UK, Japan and Singapore, the latter a place he has called home since 2011. He currently heads Marketnode, a digital asset joint venture between Singapore Exchange and Temasek founded in 2021.

In the little spare time he has, he enjoys reading, squash and contributing to the LSEAAS in the years ahead.

Sherman graduated from the LSE in 2016 and has since worked across strategy, consulting and data analytics in London and Singapore. Currently, he is an Associate Director in the Strategy & Development team at Seviora, a Temasek-owned Asset Management Group. A CFA charterholder, Sherman is passionate about both investing as well as developing investment products. 

Outside of work, Sherman enjoys watching or playing most sports, with his latest obsession being pickleball. He also enjoys meeting new people and discovering fun activities, and hopes to help others do the same through the LSE Alumni Association of Singapore.

Since graduating from LSE, Su Ean has worked in financial services, across banking and consulting, with experience in risk management, compliance, and delivering cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, off-the-beaten-path travel adventures, and learning new languages to seek out new experiences, broaden her perspective, and explore different ways of seeing the world.

Aviral graduated from LSE in 2025 and embarked on a career in the finance industry, having completed work stints prior in both London and Singapore.

While at LSE, Aviral took part in various activities and student-led societies where he won the runner-up championship for LSE’s Digital Skills Excel Challenge and was selected as a finalist for the National Investment Banking Competition, among others. Outside academia, Aviral led and coordinated efforts to support the Singaporean student population based in the United Kingdom and currently sits on the board of directors for the United Kingdom Singapore Students Council, a registered non-profit society.

On the personal front, Aviral enjoys travelling, reading and the occasional run. He also enjoys meeting new people and discovering exciting events and activities while contributing back to the LSE Alumni Association of Singapore.

Ashok relocated to Singapore in March 2026 with his current employer and has previous experience in London, Hong Kong, South Africa and Washington DC. 

He is the Deputy Chief Economist at the Institute of International Finance which is headquartered in Washington DC. Ashok has previously held various roles at the IMF, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Bank of England. He also holds a MPhil Degree in Economics from Wolfson College, Cambridge. 

Ashok enjoys travelling, hiking and has recently taken up padel tennis after the knees would no longer allow squash. 

Badhri has been in various roles in the financial industry in Hong Kong, Singapore and in his home country, Malaysia. He is currently focussing on learning and development in the wealth management industry.

He has a strong passion in how the finance industry can play a more active role by shaping the ESG agenda, and in particular creating awareness about better and diverse workforce opportunities for the differently-abled community.

On the personal front, his vices include tennis and running, with the occasional glass of wine.

More than 30 years ago, Clara was the only undergraduate student from mainland China who had been awarded by the LSE a full undergraduate scholarship in 1991-1994, and her master’s degree was awarded the full scholarship by Standard Chartered Bank of the United Kingdom. During the LSE era, she served as the chief translator of CEA (Chinese Economic Association UK).

All along her path, Clara has been dedicating her time into grooming young talents with multiple backgrounds in their preparing paths to top universities at undergraduate and graduate levels, coaching, developing and fulfilling their potential, capabilities and aspirations in life.

Gladys graduated from the LSE in 2024 with a BSc in Philosophy and Economics. She had a colourful university life, where she taught English in rural China and the Himalayas, interned with the Tata Group in Mumbai, and worked part-time at Lush Covent Garden.

She started her career in software sales at ESGpedia and now works at Sylvera, focusing on carbon data and climate solutions. She is interested in carbon markets and decarbonisation strategies, and is building her expertise in selling climate tech.

Outside of work, she is mostly indoors reading, embroidering, and sewing, but is always open to a good hike or backpacking trip.

Isabella graduated from the LSE in 1993.  She has worked as a lawyer across APAC,, starting in Kuala Lumpur, with stints in Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore, which is now home.  She is currently Head of Legal APAC at Worldline, a payments company.  Prior to this, she worked as an IT and telecoms lawyer.  Earlier roles were in electronics, manufacturing and the recording industries.

Outside of work, Isabella enjoys pickleball, Pilates, swimming, cooking, films, music, reading, art and culture.  She has a daughter at pre-university level.

Jamie graduated from LSE in 2024. She works in renewable energy infrastructure, project development and finance, with a focus on East Africa. Her work includes supporting the development of solar and wind energy projects and helping bring together the capital, technical partnerships and planning needed to move projects forward. She is also a Global Shaper with the Singapore Hub of the Global Shapers Community. Outside of work, she enjoys pilates, art, appreciating social commentary, tea (the drink, not the urban dictionary definition) and discovering new food spots in Singapore and beyond.

Mehrunisa is sustainability and transition finance executive, spending 18 plus years in Singapore driving strategic outcomes across capital markets in APAC.

She most recently led sustainability and transition finance across APAC at SMBC bank, prior to which she helped set up sustainable finance at DBS Bank. Before spending a decade in banking, her earlier career included climate, environmental and social risk due diligence work with Ramboll Environ and ERM across Southeast Asia. 

Outside of work Mehrunisa is a keen mountain climber with Kilimanjaro among her peaks. She has been an avid marathon runner, is a committed follower of art and culture, and an enthusiastic cook. 

Nicky graduated from the LSE in 2020 and has built his career in wealth management and private banking in Singapore, where he focuses on client acquisition and advising (U)HNW clients. His work centres on building trusted relationships and providing tailored wealth solutions.

Outside work, he enjoys tennis and hopes to take up padel in the near future.

Sriniwas graduated from LSE in 2024. While at LSE he co-founded the LSESU Commodities Society, establishing the university’s first dedicated student forum for commodities markets. As a continuation of this passion, he has worked with EA Gibson Shipbrokers across their Mumbai, London and now Singapore offices, first part-time during his studies in London and now full-time in Singapore covering the Ship Sale & Purchase markets in the Asia Pacific. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing tennis, and hiking. 

Waqas read Economics at the LSE and graduated in 2012. During his time at the university, he was elected as a Governor of the school from 2010-11 and also served as the Assistant International Officer of the LSE Students’ Union and the Social Secretary of Rosebery Hall of Residence.

He moved to Singapore in 2012 and is currently working in technology policy for South Asia at TikTok. He previously worked as an economist at The Economist Intelligence Unit covering the OECD economies in the Asia Pacific region.

Wilson graduated from LSE in 2011, and embarked subsequently on a career in social impact, education and experience design.

Currently he is the founder and lead facilitator of Stargaze Solutions since 2024, where he consults with organisations including the Nature Society of Singapore and SIT, to design digital experiences and the human-centred strategy behind them. 

Outside of work, he loves walking in nature and is a leading expert in Singapore of the art of walking around a stand of trees, trying to figure out where the bird is.

Xunming graduated from LSE  in 2009 and briefly taught LLM Corporate Finance at LSE. He is currently a capital markets lawyer at Linklaters and worked in London, New York and Hong Kong before returning to Singapore in 2019.

 In his prior pre-corporate life, he was the lead guitarist of a high school rock band and harboured serious ambitions of becoming world famous, before the realities of life intervened and forced him to sell out. He remains keen to live vicariously through others, and is always happy to support anyone chase their dreams and purpose.

Yasmin is a sustainability consultant at Anthesis, where she helps organizations develop and implement effective environmental and social impact strategies. Her role draws on her background in ESG initiatives across different regions. When not busy with work, she enjoys immersing herself in Singapore’s vibrant arts scene—visiting galleries, attending concerts, and catching theatre performances. With German-Vietnamese roots and new to Singapore, Yasmin spends her free time exploring the outdoors through triathlon training and running, activities that allow her to discover her new surroundings while reconnecting with her Asian heritage.

Yuhan graduated from LSE in 2019. Her career and academic research focus on sustainability in private markets, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure and energy transition. She combines hands-on experience in investment evaluation and portfolio strategy across both equity and debt with a strong foundation in corporate finance, asset pricing, and climate finance. Her doctoral research examines how climate risks influence asset valuation and returns, and her work sits at the intersection of finance and sustainability, drawing on both industry practice and rigorous empirical analysis.

Now based in Singapore after several years in Europe, Yuhan is actively engaged in the region’s finance and sustainability community. With a background spanning China, France and the UK, she brings an international perspective to her work. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors with her dog.
